A new year is beginning tomorrow and I want it to be our year.
Yours and mine.
A year to be released into a fresh intimacy with God.
A year to be brave and actually chase the adventurous plans He has been whispering in our ears.
A year to persevere through the road blocks we are facing so we can finally get victory over those internal arguments we have lost in years past.
A year to add a layer of solid rock to our foundation so we are just a little further above the shifting sands of the beach and the swirling drag of the tide.
A year that we can look back on and say, “2017 was the year I made it to the next level of my relationship with God.”
That could mean that you read the Bible all the way through or that you joined the scripture memory team and spent the year committing God’s word to memory. It could mean that you started a ladies Bible study in your living room or you finally overcame your fear and joined one. Maybe you got cracking on your blog and made time to write, like me! (: It doesn’t matter.
What matters is that as cheesy as all the New Year’s resolution blogs can be, there is a beautiful thing about having a fresh start every year. God knew that. He gave us this cycle of time so we would have a place to begin again and re-center our lives on Him. Will you join me? I have some plans in place already! And you won’t be alone! We have a private Facebook page where you can chat safely about what God it doing in your life! Send me an email and I will add you. If you just want to talk privately you can email me anytime.
2017 is a Siesta Scripture Memory Team year! Woohoo!! You can read about it here. I will be memorizing several chapters from Psalms in pursuit of my personal theme for this year “Perseverance through Intimacy with God”.
I will also be reading the Bible chronologically and would love company! (: You can read it in any way that you would like. Here are some options. The list is by no means exhaustive, there are tons of reading plans out there on the internet or Bible apps.
Whatever has happened when you tried before does not matter. Where you failed before does not matter. God has given you a fresh start…it begins tomorrow…will you take it?
I am moving forward into what He has already set in motion for me. He has plans for you too! Lets do this!
Psalm 119:9-16
9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.
10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O Lord! Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have declared All the judgments of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways.
16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
You are often in my prayers,
~Keri Lee
