Happy New Year!!

So here we are on the eve of the beginning of the New Year! I love a fresh start…it is so exciting to begin again and feel the respite of a clean slate. God understood that when He told us in Lamentations 3:22-23 that His compassion and mercy are new every morning. Whew! What a beautiful truth we can find rest in! Every day can be a new start. The start of a New Year is even more exciting though. It’s like a reset button for our dreams and goals. A way to renew our intentions to be who we hope to be.

As a part 1 of the Immersed plan we are reading through the Bible in 120 days. I have made the print out for you, you can find it here. You can print it and put it in your Bible or journal. Remember we are reading 5 days a week and we will finish on April 30. If you have questions about the layout please let me know! I want it to be as easy to understand as possible but just because it makes sense to me does not mean it makes sense to you! 🙂 Do not get overwhelmed when you look at the reading. The beauty about so much of the Bible is that it is a story and reads easily. Don’t let yourself get hung up on how much you “have” to read, enjoy the retelling of history…it’s HIS-story…He wants you to hear it!

Important note: You will notice that Psalm 119 has a day all to itself. I have a very good reason for that. Aside from being the longest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 119 is all about the Word of God and what it can do in your life when you read it, meditate on it, memorize it and follow it with your whole heart. The Word is the key to our resolve to change, it is the answer to following through with our intentions to be the Christian women that we are called to be. It is no coincidence to me that it falls in the very middle of our reading. It is a reminder to stay on track and press through to the end! You can do this!!

Don’t forget! SSMT starts tomorrow!! That is part 2 of the Immersed plan for 2015, we are participating in the Siesta Scripture Memory Team (SSMT). You can go to lproof.blog.org and post your first verse tomorrow morning. This will register you for the year. We will be reminding you on the first and fifteenth of each month to post your new verse on the Living Proof blog, but you may want to set up a reminder on your phone so you don’t forget. Your post should look like this…

Keri Lee, Las Vegas, NV. “On the first day of the first month he began his journey from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him. 10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.” Ezra 7:9-10

One more thing…during this New Year you will hear from some of my close friends here on the blog. They have been a part of Immersed for several years and have wonderful insights to share with you about what they have learned through their study of God’s Word. Enjoy!

We are looking forward to all of the amazing things God shows us as we choose to immerse our lives with His word!
